A Hands-On Art Experience at Bluebird Hills Farm in Springfield, Ohio

Celeste Malvar-Stewart is a local fibre artist whose work emphasizes the importance of sustainability in a world of fast fashion. At Farm to Fashion, you will join Celeste at Bluebird Hills Farm in Springfield, Ohio, where she sources fibers from the animals directly on site. The workshop includes a light breakfast at the McConnell Arts Center, brunch at Bluebird Hills Farm, a tour of the farm, and a felting workshop led by Celeste.

Itinerary

9:00am   Group meets at the McConnell Arts Center

• Meet and greet with Celeste who will share her hand-felted couture fashion
• Overview of the day
• Light breakfast provided by La Chatelaine

10:00am   Group departs the MAC for Bluebird Hills Farm in Springfield

• Carpooling will be available and encouraged                        

11:00am   Arrival at Bluebird Hills Farm – Brunch is Served, generously provided by shepherdess Laurel Shouvlin

12:00pm   Meet the Animals and Workshop with Celeste

• Laurel will talk about alpaca fibre and its unique properties
• Participants will use alpaca fibre along with sheep wool to create their very own hand-felted scarf 

3:00pm   Conclusion of the event. Guests are welcome to explore the farm and adjacent woods.
